Concerned Citizens

The Concerned Citizens of Quinwood and Vicinity, Inc. is a nonprofit community organization based in Quinwood, West Virginia. Established in 2002, the group is dedicated to advocating for the well-being, sustainability, and future of Quinwood and its neighboring communities. Operating as a charitable organization under the IRS classification for community service clubs, it serves as a vital voice for local residents on issues ranging from education and infrastructure to public services and economic development.

One of the group’s notable efforts includes mobilizing community support to prevent the closure of Crichton Elementary School. Members have expressed concerns about the potential negative impact on students, particularly those from single-parent, foster, or grandparent-led households, who would face longer commutes and reduced access to educational resources if the school were to close.

The Concerned Citizens of Quinwood and Vicinity, Inc. continues to play an active role in fostering civic engagement and addressing the needs of the community, ensuring that the voices of Quinwood residents are heard in matters affecting their town’s future.
